supplies
Today was a great day for filming, it was the first day we started by getting lunch and straight to the store to get all the supplies for the day. We got food coloring,viniger,backing soda and like glycerin. The glycerin did not really work but that ok. It was fun getting everything ready and we were already brainstorming in the car.
After we got all the supplies we went to Santis house and got started on getting everting ready, like where we were going to film and testing the reaction of the backing soda with the vinegar like the correct amount and stuff. One thing I suggest was not to dilute the substance, they were adding water and I knew that was altering the reaction. But we ended up getting everting right at the end.
Actually filming
We agreed to film on Santis desk, at the started Jalin wanted to be the one with the gloves, but I ended up takin that roll so he could do the poring of the substance. We tried many different thing I mean everything you could imagine we did many shots, so many takes, to the point where we ran out of vinegar, and we had to use apple cider vinegar, and it smelt horrible and it somehow also worked better, but we had a good laugh. We thought a tracking shot worked best this scene, the red food coloring in the medicine was just supposed to impel that something went wrong in the experiment. Also, this is the second scene, so we are going to be putting the credits on this scene. The second shot we did was a close up of the vinegar reacting (third scene).
glove scene
Last scene we filmed (fist from for the film opening), the glove scene this one to me was a cool shot didn't take to many tries and was quite simple we put on a glove and just filmed the shadow. We purposely used the rule of third's for the credits.
overall I am very proud of today's filming and next week we will be done with the actual interview.
